April 13 - Session 1
Public Support Systems Available to Assist You and Your Child - Participants will learn about agencies that can provide services and supports for your family and what to do when services are not immediately available.
More About Medicaid - Participants will learn more about Medicaid benefits and how to get what you need for your child. We will discuss waivers, HealthCheck and Medicaid card services as well as prior authorizations and denials.
May 2 - Session 2
Parents & Partners on a Journey - We will talk about the journey of having a child with special health care needs and/or disabilities. Participants will learn about partners to help along the way.
Advocating for Systems Change - Participants will learn how to become an effective advocate and what happens when parents become involved in systems change. We will talk about opportunities to get involved and tools for how to advocate at different levels.
Certificate of training participation will be available for individuals seeking continuing education credit.
